LaVern and I left April 9, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. to start our spring trip. The weather was
great! When we got about halfway to our destination, we missed a turn. We ended up having to call the House of Hope (our first destination) and asked Terry, the Assistant Executive Director, for help. My GPS was constantly saying, “Rerouting!” A very annoying voice might I add. Terry told us to have Seri get us to Champaign, IL and he would direct us from there. Thank the Lord for Terry and getting us safely there even though it was 10:15 p.m. They were expecting us at 6:00 p.m. Minnesota TripFamily, Friends, Partners and Visitors:
We appreciate your interest in Word in Life Ministries. LaVern and I usually take three trips a year to all the Mission Teen Centers. We are teaching on Who the Holy Spirit is and what are His Gifts. This year I had a unique learning experience. I became one of the residents at Mission Teens to experience what a resident would actually go through to become closer to God and learn to stay free of their addictions. Michigan TripIn September LaVern and I took off on our Michigan trips. We left Minnesota September 9th and got to our first Mission which was in the upper peninsula of Michigan in a small tucked away city called Gaastra. Mission Bible Training Center in Gaastra was so excited to see us come. They are doing a great deal of remodeling and finished the deck of the apartment we stayed in. We taught on who the Holy Spirit is and His gifts.
Upcoming TripIt is our last trip of the year for the Burdick’s. We will be heading out on October 24, 2018. We will be visiting 5 Missions on this trip. Our first stop will be at Set Free MBTC in Greenville, KY. Our second stop will be at Savannah MBTC in Savannah, GA. Our third stop will be at Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Our fourth stop will be at Genesis MBTC in Newport, AL; and our last stop will be at House of Hope MBTC in Brazil, IN. LaVern said we will be putting well over 3,000 miles on our van. That Blue Town & Country has been a blessing and gets us to our travels safely and comfortably. We praise the Lord for that!
Listen and RespondIt seems like we are living in times where people are searching for something, but they do not know what it is they are searching for. In America we are living at a time when the economy is doing well. Usually during these times, people do not search for God. I have noticed a hunger in people’s hearts and they do not even know what they are hungering for. Some have made it to the top and still are not satisfied. When is enough money enough! Some are searching for love and romance in all the wrong places to meet that longing they are trying to fulfill. Some head towards the bottle or pills or whatever will give them that high and find themselves empty. They try to fill that void and show up hallow, empty and alone.
Fresh MannaWhen LaVern and I had our church we did what we called “Fresh Manna!” Each week two people shared a scripture and one WORD that has a meaning to them that
they keep in their hearts and speak it out to those that the Lord brings in their paths. After the two people shared, we as a congregation put the two words together to see what the Lord is saying to us as a body of believers. I would like to share some that I dug out from an old article of mine. CAN MAN CREATE HIS OWN DESTINY? (Part 3)Joshua 1:8 “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, That you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
Psalm 1:2-3 “But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law does he meditate day and night. He shall be a tree planted by the living water, that brings forth his fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.” 3 John 2 “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” Heavenly Language Heavenly language helps me to pray,
When I am struggling and don’t know the way! CAN MAN CREATE HIS OWN DESTINY? (Part 2)Can Man create his own destiny? The answer is emphatically “YES”. Matthew 4:4, Jesus said, “Man shall not live, be upheld, sustained by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God. Luke 4:4b, Jesus said, “but by every word and expression of God.”
CAN MAN CREATE HIS OWN DESTINY? CHANGE, FOCUS & GROWTH
For years now, my question has always been CAN MAN CREATE HIS OWN DESTINY? And I continue to see 3 statements always in operation, along with other finite principles, because of space, will not be clarified at this time. Men and women from Genesis 1 through today have been creating their own destinies through these (3) statements: CHANGE, FOCUS, and GROWTH. |
