Our Ministry
Why we named it "Word in Life Ministries"
We believe if you apply God's Word into your everyday life you will see Him change your heart. Like it says in James 1:22 (NKJV) "But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves." We started Word in Life Ministries August 31, 2015 Word in Life Ministries Inc. We are a registered 501(c)(3), all donations are tax deductible. |
What we do
We are advocates for Mission Teens and speak regularly at Midwest Mission Bible Training Center in Cresco, IA while traveling 3 times a year throughout the other 19 centers in the U.S. teaching them on who the Holy Spirit is and His gifts. |
How we became partners with Mission Teens
Vern and I have always had a heart for those who struggle with addictions and we love seeing people develop a personal relationship with Jesus. So in 2003 when Pastor Ray, from Victory Christian Center, introduced us to Mission Teens, we felt the Lord leading us to check it out. When we visited the Midwest Mission Bible Training Center, a branch of Mission Teens, we knew that God was calling us to become involved, it felt like HOME!
Since then we have become advocates for Mission Teens in various capacities and have enjoyed working with them over the years. In 2015 we felt called to become more involved in outreach for Mission Teens and are now committed to visiting all 20 of the Mission Teens centers that are dotted around the United States. When we visit a center we not only teach on who the Holy Spirit is and His gifts we also share the Good News of Jesus Christ so that they can have true transformation in their lives. To God be the Glory!
Who Mission Teens is
Mission Teens is a Biblical based addiction rehab center. They not only help those who have drug and alcohol problems but also those who may be struggling with other life altering addictions such as gambling, anorexia, pornography, as well mental and emotional struggles. These centers are free for people who are struggling with addictions and they are solely funded by donations. They provide people with the help and accountability to overcome addictions and point them to true freedom in Christ. There are currently 20 centers located throughout the United States.
Midwest Bible Training Center, a branch of Mission Teens, is where people who are interested in intensive Biblical training are able to take classes and gain a deeper understanding of the Bible.

Our Belief Statement
We Believe:
- The Bible is the inspired Word of God. (2 Tim. 3:16, 1 Thess. 2:13, 2 Peter 1:21)
- God is One, but manifested in three Persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4; Phil.2:6; John 14:28, John 16:28; John 1:14; John 1:1, John 1:18; John 1:14; John 14:16; John 15:26)
- Man is a created being, made in the likeness and image of God, but through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin came into the world. (Rom. 5:14, I John 3:8)
- Salvation is the gift of God to man through faith in Jesus Christ. (Eph 2:8-10)
- The New Birth is necessary to all men, and when experienced, produces eternal life. (1 Cor. 7:10; John 3:3-5; 1 John 5:12)
- Baptism in water is by immersion, is a direct commandment of our Lord, and is for believers only. (Matt. 28:19; Rom. 6:4; Col. 2:12; Acts 8:36-39)
- The Baptism in the Holy Ghost is a gift and is accompanied by the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues. (Matt. 3:11; John 14:16, 17; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:38-30; Acts 19:1-7; Acts 2:1-4)
- We believe in sanctification, which is living a life of holiness. (Heb. 12:14 1 Thess. 5:23; 2 Peter 3:18; 2 Cor. 3:18; Phil. 3:12-14; 1 Cor. 1:30)
- Healing is the privilege of every member of the Church today provided through Jesus’ death on the Cross. (James 5:14, 15; Mark 16:18; Isa. 53:4-5; Matt. 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24)
- Jesus will return and “…The dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air…” (Acts 1:11; 1 Thess. 4:16-17)
- The one who physically dies in his sins without accepting Christ is eternally lost and, therefore, has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or repenting. (Heb.9:27; Rev. 19-20)
Invitation Prayer
If you have never asked Jesus to be your Lord and Savior and you would like to, all you have to do is ask Him to come into your life and He will. He is madly in love with you. The Holy Spirit will make you a brand new person according to 2 Corinthian 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
Repeat this prayer: Lord Jesus, I acknowledge you as the way, the truth, and the life. I need you. I am a sinner. Come into my life and change me from inside-out. I give you my life. I commit to you this day my past and I realize that you are my substitute. I am starting fresh today as a new creature in Christ. By the grace of God and the fellowship with the Holy Spirit, I now submit to you as Lord of my life. Amen.
If you have prayed that prayer the first time, welcome to the family of God. As with any family, we need active involvement to stay connected. Stay connected to a Bible believing church and read His word daily to learn about the Lord you just submitted your life to. He is waiting for you to spend time with Him.
Please send us an email if you have made the decision to become a Christian today. We would love to rejoice with you and assist you in growing in your faith!
God Bless,
Sandy and Vern
